Top Gun experience
Top Gun experience days offer the ultimate flying experience available in the UK. The bulldog plane that you’ll use were until recently owned by the Swedish army but now they are available for adreniline junkies like you to fly in formation over the english countryside.
After your comprehensive safety briefing you’ll jump in to the bulldog accompanied by your instructor (an RAF pilot or ex-RAF), take off in formation with another plane and then get some close up formation flying while you ascend. Then when you reach your flight height you get to take over the controls. Your instructor will teach you some basic aerobatic moves and then the best bit of the top gun experience – the chase. You get to chase the other plane as if you were Maverick and Goose in Top gun chasing down a Russian Mig!

When you’ve finished your ‘dog-fight’ the pilot will take over the controls and, if you’re happy to, he will complete a formation loop with the other plane. Once that’s done he’ll take you’re plane back down to the runway and you’ll have a huge grin on your face – guaranteed.
The flight lasts for around 40 minutes (30 actual flying minutes). You’ll be fully briefing on safety, flying techniques and parachuting! There are some restrictions on the top gun experience and you’ll be asked to sign a health document as usual – full details are available from the website you book with.
