Red Letter Days have slashed the price of their courier delivery service to make sure that the postal workers strikes don’t stop experience vouchers delivered from being delivered on time.

The Next day delivery courier service used to cost £8.75 but at the moment they are offering the service for only £3.95.

The Texan T-6 is a single engined, dual controlled, trainer plane used to train American, British and commenwealth pilots during world war II. Although the Americans named it a T-6 Texan the British and commenwealth pilots named it the Harvard.

Range: 730 Miles
Space for 3 x 0.30 inch machine guns (not used in this experience!!)

The T-6 is highly manouvarable and is used by the New Zealand Warbirds “Roaring 40s” (the equivalent of the British Red Arrows aerobatic team).

JCB Racing, how did they come up with that idea? Who cares! Get behined the wheel of one of the building industies most popular and recognizable vehicles – the JCB.

You’ll get a full safety briefing followed by at least 2 heats. Racing against other competitors times you’ll need to compete a pre-defined course with a few tasks along the way. Then the fastest JCB drivers get to race against each other in the grand final. 20Mph doesn’t sound fast does it – wait until you’re driving an 8.5 tonne monster machine at that speed – then you’ll feel like it’s fast.

I was asked the other day what wakeboarding was and I wasn’t quite sure. There are loads of wakeboarding gifts and wakeboarding lessons available (see below for details) but I wasn’t sure what it actually was. So I phoned my friends at Red Letter Days and they gave me a few more details. Essentially it’s like snowboarding and waterskiing and also a bit like surfing too! For a while Wakeboarding was known as skurfing but that doesn’t sound as cool so they changed it. When you take your wakeboarding experience you stand on the board and it is pulled by the boat (the same as water skiing) but it is a bit slower so you’ve got much more chance of staying upright and enjoying the ride! You’ll learn how to wakeboard, how to do some stunts and how to look cool (ok – we can’t guarantee that bit)

Top Gun experience

Top Gun experience days offer the ultimate flying experience available in the UK. The bulldog plane that you’ll use were until recently owned by the Swedish army but now they are available for adreniline junkies like you to fly in formation over the english countryside.

After your comprehensive safety briefing you’ll jump in to the bulldog accompanied by your instructor (an RAF pilot or ex-RAF), take off in formation with another plane and then get some close up formation flying while you ascend. Then when you reach your flight height you get to take over the controls. Your instructor will teach you some basic aerobatic moves and then the best bit of the top gun experience – the chase. You get to chase the other plane as if you were Maverick and Goose in Top gun chasing down a Russian Mig!

When you’ve finished your ‘dog-fight’ the pilot will take over the controls and, if you’re happy to, he will complete a formation loop with the other plane. Once that’s done he’ll take you’re plane back down to the runway and you’ll have a huge grin on your face – guaranteed.

The flight lasts for around 40 minutes (30 actual flying minutes). You’ll be fully briefing on safety, flying techniques and parachuting! There are some restrictions on the top gun experience and you’ll be asked to sign a health document as usual – full details are available from the website you book with.
